Vliegende Hollander (‘Flying Dutchman’), beer pub, tasting room, in the middle of Middelburg's old town. Classic interior full of taps and glasses. Always 42 beers on tap, familiar names, craft beers, old Belgian brewers, beergeek refrigeration under the stairs.
Spot-on pub menu, bites list full of Dutch ‘bitterballen’, burger XXL, curly tail ribs, beer brûlée to finish. An enjoyable place to spend one or more hours, especially in sunny weather on the terrace in the old square.
The Vliegende Hollander is near the main Markt in the centre of Middelburg. If you are standing in the middle of the Markt and look at the imposing Town Hall, take de street on the left. After 50 meters turn left onto Plein 1940 and you will find the pub on your left at the end of the square.
