Beerze Bold Tripel
Sturdy & sympathetic
'Bold' is what the brewers themselves call this dark blonde tripel and 'a tribute to the hop harvest'. Hazy blonde yellow, creamy head. Firm tripel with an alcohol content of 9.5%. Friendly at the same time with restrained flavours. Refined hop palette due to brewing with whole hop cones and hop flowers. Nice result, slightly bitter, somewhat malty, rich hops, sweet fruity, dash of citrus. Goes well with fatty fish and full creamy cheeses.
Beerze, small brewery, centre of Vessem on the banks of the Kleine Beerze stream, in the Brabant Kempen region. Rich family history, since 1716, restarted in 2011 after it closed in 1954. Tasting room Mout & Hout (Malt & Wood), brewery with tours, opportunity to stay overnight.

Moroccan-style meatballs
For a delightful contrast, pair a Beerze Bold Tripel with this Moroccan comfort food. Fresh snack, both spicy and smooth, thanks to the yoghurt.
