Hosternokke tasty!
Jonge stadsbrouwerij van Middelburg. Brouwt bier sinds 2014 onder de naam ‘Hosternokke’, Zeeuws dialect als vriendelijke verbastering van een krachtige vloek. In het Nederlands, verrek, verdorie als uiting van verbazing of ergernis. Brouwt variëteit aan bieren met namen in speels Zeeuwse: ‘Lekker Dieng’ is een blond, ‘Môk ôk èh’ een dubbel, ‘Èk Zinin’ een IPA en Hapsnurker, een vreemde snuiter, een witbier. Met Middelburg Stadsbier 6 en 8 verbinden de brouwers zich aan hun stad.
Previously located on Korte Geer in the heart of the historic center. Brewery next to and above the brasserie, beautiful copper kettles above the long bar. Brewery moved in 2023 after takeover. The tasting room is now in a historic cellar, along the Dam, adjacent to the Prins Hendrik Dock. Access via sloping cellar hatch beneath under building from 1720, national monument. Well worth a visit.
11-minute walk from Middelburg station, 850 metres. Out of the station, first cross the Stationsbrug then the Koningsburg, immediately turn right on the Houtkaai, after 250 metres turn left into the Bellinkstraat, at the end of which you are already on the Dam, turn right and after 100 metres you are at the Stadsbrouwerij Middelburg.
